Pepper Cheese & Chive Gougere Heat oven to 400 degree. 1 cup water 1/2 cup butter 1 cup flour 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning. 1/4 tsp. garlic salt 4 eggs 1 1/2 cups shredded Hot Pepper Jack Cheese 2 Tbl. chopped fresh chives Bring water and butter over med. heat and bring to a boil (about 5 min.) Add flour, Italian seasoning and garlic salt. Stir vigorously until mixture forms a ball. Remove from heat . Add 1 egg at a time, beating after each addition until smooth. Stir in 1 cup of the cheese and the chives. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto parchment lined baking sheets. Top each with 1/2 tsp. of remaining cheese. Bake 18 to 22 min or until puffed and browned.
